What bore water testing in Dubbo actually involves
The 2016 NSW fact sheet says groundwater is untreated and should not be considered safe for human consumption without proper treatment. The Department's own page puts the responsibility on the person taking the water. A new bore does not come with a safe-to-drink result: nothing in the approval or the completion report says it does.

What to do
Do not drink or cook with bore water until it has been tested and treated as NSW Health advises. This site states no result a test will find and no treatment to use, because no source we can cite gives either for Dubbo. Ask the provider who takes the sample, which tests are run and who reads them.
A bore anywhere in the district may draw on a source other people use. The Dubbo page and the Wellington page say what the plan documents record.
